We just celebrated our 12th year in business and it’s something I do not take for granted! I am sincerely grateful for clients who trust us with the medical care of their pets.
When we started there was a train station on the property where June Carter Cash sold antiques years ago. It did not even have plumbing. There were some instrumental people who helped me get started.
Halo Realty sold me the property and Ed Spurlock gave me my first business loan. Kim Wilson opened with me and Charles Woodward came in to establish our first patient chart. Mike Brown was our first appointment, and Lobo Bryant was our first surgery. I remember it clearly. At the time I had two children and added two more in the next few years.
The first few years you just kind of survive and learn as you go. We were open 6 days a week and had kennel duties on Sunday. Dr. Wilkinson joined us in 2012 and now we have Dr. Read on full time.
Fast forward to today, we have 13 employees and are closed on Saturday, thanks to the emergency clinic being open full time. We enjoy taking excellent preventative care of pets and want to fully diagnose the medical issue we are treating when possible. Veterinary medicine, in general, has changed tremendously in the 20 years I have been practicing and it is neat to see how much we can do for our pet family members.
We have an awesome staff who care about this practice and the people and pets that make us who we are. I am thankful to be a part of the community I grew up in and for the well being it provides for my own family. Please continue to help us grow in the next 12 years. We are open to suggestions and look forward to serving you.
